52 weeks of colour part deux — week 2, coral

Sweltering

The colour coral reminds me of the orangey-pink blush and frosty lipsticks by Max Factor and other cosmetics giants of the 1970s and 1980s that littered my mother’s dressing table. I swear even her pancake foundation in a tube had undertones of coral — I could check because I think she still buys it several decades on.

I thought of doing a tribute to that period in this week’s 52 weeks of colour challenge, however, it was 40 degrees Celsius outside and my brain was too hot to function beyond telling me to look to the sky for signs of a cool change. This was my second attempt at making a set on my little sky platform and took three long attempts; it’s all about lessons for next time.

  1. It’s such a rich composition, with all the saturated colors of the set, the dress, and your windlight. Sitting here with my freezing tootsies, it really warms me up 🙂

  2. Rudhhhhhh, hello! Thanks so much and here’s to another year :-).

Hi Sama, welcome to you, too, and thanks for your lovely words.

Hello, Nic, happy new year and thank you.

Hi, Lau, no coral make-up for us, I say ;-). I went through lilac and frosty pinks though in my teen years … thankfully there are not many photos.

Aeva, hello and welcome — I’ll check out your blog soon as it’s way past my bedtime right now :-).

Ayako, thank you for your kind words. I’m deconstructing the set again and should have taken more pics before I did it!

Hi bourbie, awww, have a hot drink and put another pair of socks on while you contemplate the tricky electric indigo challenge!
